Prior to surgery
Get a routine lab test.
The liposuction could be performed under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. It is performed through small, inconspicuous incisions. A thin, hollow tube is inserted through the incision to loosen excess fat and remove it using a surgical vacuum.
There are common variations to the procedure:
Power assisted liposuction known as vibro-liposuction.
Ultrasound assisted lipoplasty known as Vaser.
Each technique is adapted for a specific indication.
Recovery and after surgery
Compression garments should cover treatment areas for one month following the procedure. These help to control swelling and compress the skin to new body contour.
Your improved body contour will be apparent when the swelling and fluid accumulations subside. It will take one to three months to observe objective results.
